"We played so abounding shows and saw so abundant stuff, that if we got time off, it was just cloudburst out," says bagman Nathan Followill of the five-week, twelve-song recording stint, which yielded the brand of "Pistol of Fire," "Razz," "Soft" and "Milk." "On the endure almanac there were no expectations, because we had no admirers and we had never fabricated music before," Followill says. "On this one we knew what we wanted, and we were actual adequate and confident."
Kings of Leon -- Nathan and brothers Caleb (guitar, vocals) and Jared (bass), and accessory Matthew (guitar) -- accept broadened their complete from the bluesy roots of Youth and Young Manhood, and the new actual reflects such assorted influences as Run-DMC, Talking Heads and the Ronettes. "There are absolutely songs on there that you apprehend and think, 'That's the Kings of Leon,'" Nathan says, "and again there are songs that yield three or four listens to apprehend that it's us."
Kings of Leon will arch out on an East Coast U.S. bout in October.
